Help! Instrument lighting

Newly acquired 74 coupe. All interior lighting works, with exception of the instrument clusters. Before I check the fuse, then the dreaded opening up of the clusters to check/replace bulbs, any other known and common cause for this that I should check first? Seemed ironic to me that all would be out if it were a bulb issue.

If the instrument lamps fuse is good,probly the Instrument Dimmer rheostat in the light switch or a ground!:thumbStill a Big Pain to get to!!:L

I agree. Fixing the ground on the winshield pillar isn't to bad, therefore your problem is probably the light switch. Always works that way.
