Buddy of mine that has an 88 or 89 Iroc-z (cant remember which) sent me this and boasted "oh thirdgen out handles vette". Well I read through it and I would still rather have the vette even though they declare the winner the thirdgen. http://www.thirdgen.org/besthandlingamericancar-caranddriver-may1984

Having never driven a C4, I'm unsure what to think, but at least the magazine's winner was a Chevy.

According to their "Vital Statistics" page, the Corvette has a 7-speed manual transmission. Damn, what RPO was that??? :L

They're probably counting the overdrives on the 4+3 (I've heard other people refer to them as having 7 gears). I didn't read the entire article, but come on now... the 'vette is clearly the winner in the looks category. At the end of the "track" day, they are still lesser cars!

Yeah I read through the article but when it came down to it they said the vette was "hard to drive on the street" so they gave it to the Camaro.

Wow, that brought back lots of memories. I remember when the 84 Vette came out it was trashed by almost every car mag out there for having way to harsh of a ride.

I drove one at the time and felt it was pretty stiff. Hitting even small bumps in a turn would cause the rear end to come off the ground. But I still loved it.
