still where we were 6 weeks ago - waiting for the %*@#%*# paint!!

I stopped by and had a "chat" with the paint supplier on Fri. He was going to make another call to Autocolorlibrary where he sent the last sprayed sample panel we sent to him. We are expecting a call back from him with an update on Mon.
If we don't have the proper paint this coming week we are going to try another supplier.

I think i've been very patient up till this point, but now I'm starting to get a bit upset.
I've already missed 4 shows I would have liked to have gone too - not to mention just wanting the car back to enjoy driving it on these nice days we are getting, but now a show is coming up that I REALLY, REALLY want to go to with the car and we have exactly 4 weeks until I need to get the car back in time to get her cleaned up and detailed ready for this upcoming show. That gives us time to still get her painted, sanded, cleared, buffed, and reassembled.

This show coming up is on May 22nd. This is the same show I was at last year when the paint on the hood bubbled up which is what started this entire repaint project. After the paint bubbled, my wife and I were so upset that we left the show early before the awards were given out and I found out the next day my car had been voted Best of Show but because we left they gave the award to another car. i've been waiting almost a year to go back to this show again and get MY trophy!! Last year the BOS award trophy was 4' tall and I have every intention of getting that trophy on my shelf this year! :)
This is not the biggest or the best show I have planned for the season at all, but because of what happened last year I consider this show to be important to me for my own satisfaction. One way or another I'll make sure the car is done for me to go and get my trophy at this show on May 22nd!

Maybe someone is trying to tell you something, Barry. ;)

Don't get in a rush now.

I know, I know Bob, but i'm not a patient person to begin with and I think i've been very patient waiting for the paint up to now but enough is enough already, geez!

I DON'T want to rush this and pay for that in the future, but I really want my car back already. forgetting any and all shows, I mostly want it back for one simple reason - to drive it! I bought the car last year to drive and enjoy it and with the weather turning nice here again that's what I want to do with her.

Thanks for the update with the pictures. I know you're happy with the progress.

Hi! Barry

With all the time, money and work to get the 65 the way you want it, let the man work his magic and you will be at the car shows before you know it!

Good luck Ray

Ray, my painter and his magic isn't the problem, it's the paint supplier.
My painter can't do his magic without PAINT!
;LOL

The first coat of color was sprayed yesterday. It is being used as a quality control coat. Light sanding and any imperfections repaired, then the finial color coats will be sprayed. Color coat to insure color coverage and then two more wet coats. Should be done next week!

Ray,
Glad to see her in green. I like the quality control color concept, gives you one last chance to make it right. Can't wait to see her all done. Good luck
