I have a 85 C4 Vette for a project car and found many projects to work on. First.... when I turn on the windshield wippers they come on but will not turn off. I have to turn the key off. Should I be looking at the switch in the door or something on the firewall. The next thing is how do I disconnect the alarm system. I don't use the car that much and after setting a month or two my battery is dead. Thanks, Jimm

Wipers keep running: I'm thinking you have a bad switch in the wiper motor and gear housing. It is located on the firewall. You will need a factory manual to test the door panel switch to narrow this down for sure.

Disconnecting alarm system: Why do you want to disconnect this? If you feel you have a battery drain issue, then there are procedures to track this down. The theft detererent controller is near the ECM behind the passenger dash. Again, it would help if you had a factory manual. I would suggest measuring the power drain, pulling one fuse out at a time to see which circuit causes a drop. If you store this car for long periods, they make a trickle charger which will prolong the life of your battery.

Thanks TedC for your help. Looks like I will have to get a manual for sure. I bought this Vette as a project car and there are a lot of projects to work on......... head lights won't flip and so on.

This 85 Vette came from Calif and has the smog control on board something I don't need in Florida. The ride and drive is good. No cracks and the paint and interior are also good. I have just over $4,600.00 invested and I know I am way over my head but HEY....... you only live once.

Thanks,
Jimm

Thanks Toms01 for your info on the manual. I can see that I would need this with so many electrical items to be repaired. I am not looking for a show Vette but one I can drive and everything is wroking. My brother was a Vette guy. He owned a 58 and a 63. I only had one Vette and it was a 69 T-top.

Take care,
Jimm
