A couple of pages ago I saw pics of cork pan gaskets. Are you going to run non-synthetic dyno crud ??:eek :eek

If you're going to use full synthetic STAY AWAY from the cork gaskets. They'll leak for sure!

Ken, You are not going to leave that ugly a/c compressor sitting there like that are you? I saw something that looks really trick on those. Simply strip all the paint off, take a scotch brite pad and polish the outside a little, and spray some clear coat on it. That way it will match the natural aluminum finish of all your other stuff.

:L No Chris, I should have stated that, but I was still too excited I guess from the drag racing experience yesterday, and I forgot to mention it was only on there to get all of the brackets adjusted properly. It'll be replaced with the one that's on my Vette now; that one is only a year-and-a-half old or so. ;)

All of the bracketry and pulleys for the engine is new. :D

Keith, I'm hoping to have both the engine and the Vette together in the shop next week. I was out running around in it today, and after yesterday's Super Comp Gas Dragster experience, the Vette seems down on power and I want the new engine in NOW! :L

Time for an update

Ken,
How is the engine upgrade and install comming along??

Time to move it on up!!!!!

Roy

Roy, I am a bit frustrated at this point, to say the least.

The engine is now complete and sitting in its cradle waiting for installation. The shop where the installation will take place has a ZR-1 waiting on an oil pump, and a '59 or '60 waiting on a transmission swap. Until they, or at least one of them, are out of the way, mine waits.

Chris has his fired already; all I've heard from mine is the thing spin over when the builder hooked a a battery to check it all out after assembly.

Supposedly in another week or two.

:cry Everybody's talkin about their new engines... And I'm still waiting to get mine installed.

What a weekend; I washed it Friday, waxed it yesterday, and today was such a gorgeous day I went for a ride. It still runs like a champ, but I really, really want my newly-built horsepower shredding the tires in second gear, not simply chirping them as I did today (Although they did "chirp" for a couple of feet actually). :J

Sorry to hear about the delay, Ken.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait, hell at least you can take your's out. The road's up here in the hill's are still to dirty for me to even bother washing mine let alone drive it.

Plus my motor's still in it's crate, I'm still waiting for part's.

You and Chris both have some pretty sweet ride's, I'm jealous!

Rick

Finally! I just got a call from Richie to bring it in Monday morning. He said nine o'clock but I think I sleep in front of his doorway to the shop. :L

:J I can't wait! Soon!! :J

YES!!!

Easy now Bro, don't do anything that would be dangerous between now and then. Soon, VERY soon.

Man, this part is going much quicker than I expected. I talked to Richie this morning and he said that the old is out and to bring on the new.

He's got to finish the hole in the tunnel for the ROD, but he said to bring the engine, trans and all of the other stuff to the shop tomorrow. We're on our way! :J

Great news Ken; I'm excited to hear about the excessive HP.
What kind of break in do you plan for it; it's pretty high on the compression, right?:cool
