Key Fob Range

Is there a way to reduce the range of the key fob? My work area is about 20 yards from where I park my car every day, and it is not unusual to hear my alarm blaring because the panic button has been pressed while in my pants pocket. I've also come out on more than one occasion and found that the rear hatch was open.

I suppose parking further away is a solution, but if I did that I could not see her when I look out the window... Any other ideas?

I put two fob jackets on each fob. Haven't accidentally popped the hatch or blown the horn since.

One-piece soft plastic stretches over the fob.

The range is reduced as the battery depletes. Put in a weaker battery? (I wouldn't do this however.)
