its doing the same thing as the first knock sensor . its strange when i go to ridgecrest 75 miles away and down hill i both times have had between 118-150 knock events . comming back up hill 15 -20 . this has happened 3 seperate times . i have replaced the plugs with ngk irridums tix 55 s. the same ones i have used on my black car for 3 yrs . 1 injector has been replaced by previous owner as well as one spark plug . have allready ordered rc injectors and have a set of msd wires . i am wondering (and should ck the pvc valves ) . but it is so strange how this thing acts . . it just passed smag 3 weeks ago according to the dealer .This part/light throttle knock incident....it's occurring after you put in a new knock sensor and overtightened it? Or, was it happening before you installed the new KS?
answers are 1) had an extra one and thought to try it and see if the other was bad . 2)yes 3)the snat 490 has headers mine is a 475 which has stk exhaust manifolds . the car 2 weeks ago made 372 rwhp and 353 tq./. i guess i should do a fuelpressure ck and replace the filter.I'm not familiar with the LT5, but I wouldn't think knock counts on level ground would be normal. A few of the obvious q's?
1) why was the sensor replaced?
2) are you sure it's the right replacement sensor?
3) the snat has headers, right? (I know on L98/LTx's, you can get some false knock readings due to header tubes being close to the knock sensor and transmitting noise)
