Sonny, to answer your question .YES with a performer intake and 750 Edelbrock will fit under a stock hood. i had the 600 cfm carm and same manifold under my stock hood.
i have since put a taller hood on to allow me to run a phenolic carb spacer . trying to cut out some of the heat transferred to the carb,
