With GM's decision to close-down the Saab brand and the decreasing production and layoffs at Bowling Green Assembly making all the new, there was a less-known, Corvette-related milestone of sorts that occured yesteday (Friday).
The last Big-Block V8 was built at GM Powertrain's plant at Tonawanda, New York ending 44 years of production of GM iconic "Mark 4, 5 and 6" engine family at the famed engine manufacturing facility.
Corvette used the Big-Block from 1965 to 1975.
Interestingly, the Wall Street Journal marked the occasion by publishing a picture of the last Big-Block coming off the line at Tonawanda.
