98 coupe . Last nite i started to smell antifreeze in my car ,i turned on the heater and was blasted with a fog of dexcool . I pulled the passenger side carpet back and it was soaked. This morning i noticed it was also leaking near where the air conditioner condensation line is . I'm betting this is going to be the heater core . (hope not) If it is how hard a job is this to do ?

I'm not sure on the C5's, but I did a C3 way back when and the heater core was the first part they put in , seats, dash, guage's, dropped steering wheel, everything had to be removed to get at it. Someone will chime in on the C5's, in the mean time you can by-pass it (heater core) and still use the car...... Good luck

C3 started out with the heater core and then they built the car around it!!!:chuckle:chuckleI've not done a heater core in a C5 yet, but I have had most of the dash out of one!!! It's not anything I'm going to wright my mom about and tell her how much fun I had!!!:boogie:boogie:boogie There may be a Quick Trick to the heater core,I'm sure c4c5specialist will know the answer!!:upthumbs

Hopefully it is not the heater core. I had the same problem when my 99 was brand new. It turned out to be an " O " ring that was not properly seated on one of the heater core pipes. It took the job of pulling the intake manifold and replacing the " O " ring. It turned out to be a rather small job. But it sure appeared to be the heater core until they got the manifold removed. Maybe you will be lucky. Come to think of ti mine was dripping on the garage floor and not in the cabin. Good Luck !
