How many Series 500 cars were built???
According to the Callaway Owner's Group, there were 510 B2K cars built. So that would mean there are ten of them. :)

TurboLuigi, what do you mean it's not a B2K? It was ordered as a regular L98 then later taken to Callaway? I thought there were over 500 B2K's built, so wouldn't that mean there were 500 Series cars that were ordered as B2K's?

Also, is that actually custom paint? It looks in the picture like the metallic red (torch red or something?) that the Corvette had back then.

Eric, I hear what you are saying. Has there actually been an upswing in prices yet, though? More awareness doesn't always mean a rise in prices, often it just means you can sell your car within 3 months for the same price instead of it taking 6-12 months to get it. Don't get me wrong, I think Callaways are incredible cars, but I sure hope the prices don't rise. Now they are dream cars that don't require dream salaries to afford. That really shocked me but I'm glad they aren't $60k+ cars as it means I could live my dream! I doubt the prices will drop much, but I hope they stay level more than they rise. For those that already own one, it's hopefully the car that brings you the pleasure, not the investment. :) :w

If you're looking to buy-- I'd be buying in the short term.
Unfortunately it's not that easy. Unless Stoudts does some Mitsubishiesque 0 down 0 payments for a year, I just won't be in a position where it makes sense to buy a car for about a year. My wife and I bought our first house just a few months ago, and the Aurora is still being paid off. The risk to our savings and financial future is greater than the risk that in 12-18 months B2K's will be out of my price range. :w

Oh, and I'll definitely be attending Carlisle. The wife and I will probably be up there the Saturday. I look forward to seeing (and hopefully hearing!) all of the beautiful cars that you all own!

Part of my market evaluation summary of increasing prices (amateur at best ;)) is allowing history to repeat itself. It took 20+ years for the L-88 Vettes, Shelby Mustangs, Yenko cars, etc. to realize their true collectibility and high $$$ value. The Callaway Vettes are getting aging nicely! In another couple years we'll be hosting the 20th Anniversary of the B2k program!

I picked my car up for what I considered to be a fair price several years ago. I haven't heard of an Aerobody car sell for that low of a price since my purchase. I hope I've bought into a great return on investment should I ever decide to sell! So, from an owner's point of view-- let's see those prices go UP! ;)

I laughed out loud at the Mitsubishi financing arrangements! :L Good stuff!

Glad you'll be able to see the Callaway cars at Carlisle. We give rides at a discounted rate for future owners! :beer

Luigi Is Right The Car Is Not A True B2k.my 1991 Serial # End In 14590 And Is #053 For 1991 Callaways This Car Serail# 10568.still Very Nice Car But Not Worth The Price Right Now.

Steve

Agree with Luigi in a sense...But I think it will ultimately end up being worth more than the B2k cars due to the fact that there were so few built.

Confirmed

Confirmed - The car in question, the dark red metallic Aero Convertible (at Stoudts) is indeed a B2K :eek
Looking in the glovebox, it is near the middle of the top line - RPO B2K is printed amongst the rest of the options.
Hope this helps :m
