Looking for mechanic in SF Bay Area

I'm looking for referrals to a good vette mechanic here in San Francisco Bay Area. I need someone to replace my rear manifold intake gasket and I'm not about to take to the mechanic that did the head gasket job. That's another story altogether entirely. We'll see what the B.A.R. says when they're done investigating.

There's a shop on Calderon between W. Evelyn and Villa in Mountain View. I just can't remember their name.

I've never had work done there, but I did do a shop tour and they seemed to be capable.

I've used Race Street Rally in Santa Clara and they've usually done a good job. I'm not sure I'm going back though, so take that for what it's worth.

After years of going to a shop in the far East Bay I recently tried a new place (new for me) in Hayward. I have to tell you that they fixed what I couldn't get done at the other place.....runs like a champ. They also gave me a list of things to consider repairing in the next year or so. The best part........they called me 2 weeks after the work to make sure I was satisfied and if everything was right.

One experience won't allow me to recommend them without reservation.......but they are good. I have no personal gain by recommending them.

there's a place on 14th and mission in sf. they used to be near my place on harrison around 3rd/4th but they moved. no personal exp with them but i do know that they specifically work with vettes and when i dropped by once just to check it out, saw afew nice examples. the annoying thing for me is that they are only open mon-thurs from like 8-5 or something like that...... i think their # is (415) 543-1824. not positive about that # (it may be to their old location) but i am positive about their address. good luck and keep me posted. i'm going to need them at some point soon too!

They're on Dollar street in Hayward. Have appointment for next Tuesday. After a lengthy phone conversation I am looking forward to doing busines with them.

Looks like a nice idea. One thing I did see right off was that the address for Precison Motive is wrong. They've moved and their new address is

I should pick up my car tonight or tomorrow depending on who's available to shoot me over there. I will again give a quick report here as well as leave an honest and fair statement regarding the repair. I will say that I am impressed by their shop. Super clean, and very nice corvettes they're working on.​

Picked the car up the other day. So far everything is running very well. This place looks the part of the true vette specialist. Like I may have said earlier, they are working on some really nice cars, and they kept me informed on progress,etc.

In my case the mechanic, and I use the term lightly that did my original head gasket job screwed it up big time. Precision Motive fixed the previous guys mistakes and moved on to point out some things I need to take care of.

The guys were knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. Hats off to Joe, Pat, and Adrian. If nothing goes astray I would recommend these guys. Pretty sure I'll be going back when the time comes. Feel free to contact me if you guys have questions.

There was one thing that bothered me about going there. I realized how much I miss my '73 as I looked at the classics in their garage/shop.
