Hi, I'm a newbie here. I thought I read a thread regarding the front ends on 2005 C6 Corvettes bottoming out because of shallow ground clearance. The thread discussed air dams being severely damaged as a result. Can someone point me to that thread? I can't locate it anymore.

Thanks!

Photo2001,

Welcome to the CAC.
I did a search and didn't come up with anything. I'll move this over to the C6 section so maybe some of those guys might spot this thread and remember something.

Not as far as I can see, over 2,000 miles and 9 states and I've yet to bottom out the C6. I never have had to replace an air dam in 7 years of driving the C5 and now the C6. In fact I've driven Corvettes for over 47 years and never had one "bottom out" as you are implying.

Aha, you were remembering a thread about the C5 air dams.

Now definitely, The C5's WILL scrape.

I haven't heard anything about the C6's scraping.

Tammy,

Oops! Sorry about my thinking the thread was about the C6! I love everything else I've read about it, and think it's the best looking Corvette
in years. Thank you for clearing that up!

Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for all the replies!

My c6 bottoms out more than my 98 or 00 did. Had a total of 85k miles on the c5's and no problems with the air dam.
