Okay guys, I am running out of ideas.
My '85 is losing anti-freeze a bit at a time. Probably about 2 to 3 quarts every couple of weeks. Well anyway I have to refil the overflow expansion container about every 2 weeks.
Here is what I know:
1. There are no visable signs of any leaking.
2. The indications of the engine burning it are not there. Such as ash deposits on the plugs or oil being burned. Which would be a symptom of valve guide leaking.
3. The engine never gets above 207 degrees so it is most likely not boiling the water away, which used to be my pet theory.
This car now has 45K on the clock. I bought it with 37K on it and this condition has existed since I bought it.
Any new ideas would be appreciated. Has anyone ever had this problem with a Vette? I had it also with my '86 but that time it was the valve guides. But then it had 150K on the clock. This has me stumped.
