:werd:my 93 with 38000 miles has a problem the low oil light comes on now and then when i start it up but the oil level is right at the full line please help thanks kraz

Did you check the oil pressure switch? A lot of times thats whats causing the light to come on, a faulty sensor...

I haven't had a chance to go look at my Service Manual for MY93 but how can a faulty oil pressure switch affect the low oil light?

I had a very strange low oil light issue on my -94 when I bought it 2008. The light was on, but the level was correct. I guessed that it was a faulty oil level gauge, and made some deduction on the price :)

When I picked up the car, the gas tank was almost empty, so i had to fill it up at the nearest gas station, to my surprise the low oil light was no longer on when leaving the gas station.

The oil level light has been off ever since :thumb

Any ideas why?

When the light came up on my 92 Deville I ended up tracing the problem to a faulty oil pressure switch. It was a cheap and easy fix, so I figured he could start looking there. There was a pinhole leak in the switch that prevented the presssure from building properly and thusly throwing the light on. The hole was so small, barely any oil leaked out so it didnt affect the amount of oil in the engine... I looked at my service manual and realized I need to spend some time with it. I cannot find where you would diagnose the problem.

Well the oil light works based on a grounding system, maybe by chance the ground was lost (for who knows why) and after you gassed up the ground was reestablished...? Idk, just a thought!:cool
