Anyone on the forum using an LS-6 454 intake? I could use some help with measurements.

Thanks
Len

I have an original '71 LS-6 coupe, and also have a couple of original '70 & '71 LS-6 intakes.

How can I help?

Do you have the height of the car base in relation to where the intake meets the block at the front & rear? Edelbrock refers these measuremts as A/B.

1970 Stingray:

I took a straight edge on top of carb flange (centered lengthwise) and a straight edge perpendicular on each edge (long ways front and rear).

Front of manifold 2 7/8ths

Rear of manifold 3 7/8ths

Hope this helps, not sure what points Edelbrock uses as I don't know what reference your talking about.

That sounds about right. Wow! That is low. Are those manifolds iron or aluminum?

the original 1970 454 450 HP chevelle manifold was aluminum and it was a "low riser". the ports ran uphill to the heads. this manifold was originally to be used on the corvette so the carb had to be low to fit under the hood.i think i have one someplace

Clem:

What would you be doing with one of these manifolds? :)

Warren #12139 from the NCRS board.

i removed it from my new 1970 454 450 hp chevelle and installed a GM hi riser manifold from a 427 425 hp corvette back in 1970

I just answer a similiar question on Corvette forum.
Are you Jughead on that forum??
Anyway my measurements were about 2 inches more since my LS6 intake was a high rise from a 454 LS6 chevelle.
