Lt1 Radiator Pressure Cap Question????????????

Hi

This morning l decided to add a bottle of water wetter to my radiator after taking out an equal part of anti freeze from my overflow tank.

The problem is that l cannot seem to be able to get the pressure cap off. The manual said "turn to the left without pushing down to the first stop. Well l followed the directions but it still will not come off. It seems to be caught on something, but l didn't want to force anything.

Ok, what's the trick???

Turn left to first stop - that's supposed to relieve the pressure inside without blowing it all over you.

Push down - real hard - and turn left some more. Cap should come off then. At least that is the way is works on my car.
