LT1's larger than 396?

I know these are out there, but are monster stroker LT1's reliable for everyday use? What are these large-displacement options? Are they much more expensive than the 396? Thanks for the help!

I've got a pretty cool article somewhere in an old Corvette Fever mag of a 409 LT-1 with over 500 horse:eek Not sure of price but it was awesome

She's real fine my 409..... ok, maybe not MY 409, since I don't have one but TPIS makes the equipment for a steetable 409, the same one that JT ZR-WON is talking about in Corvette Fever.
