Question: Luggage rack

I'm planning to remove my luggage rack soon and I'm wondering if there are any helpful tips I could use. I'm guessing I'm going to have to drop the tank to get to it also.

Anything tricky stuff I need to know?

Couldn't find anything in the AIM on this. They might have used Wellnuts in which case you can remove it from the topside.

I don't know how you can best remove a luggage rack, but I do know that the holes will be virtually impossible to cover.

Racks were not factory installed which is why they are not in the AIM.

They unscrew from the top. Takes 5 minutes as long as nothing is rusted.

Removed old rusted rack for new paint and had the old holes filled in and painted because i knew new rack holes probably wouldnt line up ...( different rack supplyers with different whole lineup ) .. been two years and still cant tell where old rack was placed.
