On the L81, there is a sensor screwed into the intake manifold near the front edge, directly in front of the carb. The sensor has a 2-wire connector. I believe it's the coolant temperature sensor for the Computer Command Control system.

Mine is crumbling from age and heat. It is clearly in need of replacement. So, here's my question:

Does anybody know where I can get one?

Still available from local parts stores (NAPA) and some dealers. Try a dealer first. The new CTS is a bit different and comes with a connector that has to be spliced in.

Just got the word from the local Chevy parts desk that they have the CTS, as well as the new connector. According to the Chevy parts guy, the pigtail connector has two white wires. On my car, the two wires are yellow and green (the yellow one probably used to be white). So...

Does it matter which way it wires up? If so, how do I tell the difference on the new pigtail connector?

Thanks for your help!:w

Mine came with matching wire colors. I don't think it matters which you connect. The dealer should know for sure. Worse case senario....look at your existing, one should go to the center the other to the casing. Try and match them up. Make sure you crimp the connection and shrink wrap for a good weather seal.
