I was running at Thunderhill yesterday. I've been watching my oil temp mostly, but this time I started to watch my coolant temp, too. I have the Ron Davis combo radiator/oil cooler and my oil temps were running around 245-255... maybe as high as 260... it was 100 degrees ambient and sunny.
I started watching my coolant temperature... seemed to be running 225-235... and near the end of the last session it reached 240, and I got nervous and ran a cool down lap.
What coolant temp is too hot? Do I really need to watch that or just the oil temp only? At what point would the 'check gauges' light come on for the coolant temperature?
