hello, i have a 74 t-top corvette. the car is not original and probably isn't worth going back to true original condition.
my question is; would i still be considered for membership in the NCRS?
is this just for restorers

robin

Post your question over on the NCRS forum. http://www.ncrs.org/forum

It is an organization for all that enjoy the Vette. The primary focus is restoration but it covers all aspects of the Vette. A lot of the members have a 99 pt show car and also have a hot rod Vette that would be hard pressed to get 25 points :)

Check them out.

thank you Tom, i think i might get 26 points just for showing up in january. of course the disney ticket bribes won't hurt,,,

NCRS Membership

Robin,

I have been a member of NCRS for several years now. I never intended for my Vette to meet NCRS standards. I just wanted to support their cause with my dues and support. I believe in what they are trying to accomplish, which is preserving the Corvette as is for future generations.

One day I hope to own a C2 which meets NRCS standards, until then, its modify to the max!

No Rolex here either, no Vette for that matter, but I'm a card carrying NCRS member. And my next Vette will be modded as I see fit. The NCRS is a valuable resource for knowledge no matter what you want to do with your Vette. Guaranteed, someone in the NCRS has probably tried it.

I know a few members who love Vettes but don't have one right now.

BTW - See you in Kissimmee. If the weather is bad up here in Ma, I might show up in a BMW, no Rolex :D, but :beer sounds good.

I am a NCRS member I also joined to support the cause.I had purchased a driver and planned on keeping it a driver.Once I joined the NCRS and started gathering information I started to enjoy the" bring it back to factory correct" and have been working dilagently to some day have it judged.

There are a lot of NCRS bashers out there who just dont understand the whole pricable of it or who have never been to a NCRS meet. I plan on being in orlando maybee we can hook up and Ill indroduce you to the folks I am meeting there.

Also so you understand There are alot of long time NCRS folks out there with some of the best award winning corvettes in the country sitting in the garage and in the bay next to it in there garage is highley modified corvette .

Youll see when you start meeting them.

Case in point, and naming no names but, there is a member of my chapter who is a former Nat'l Pres.;) He has a ZR1 powered 61:upthumbs. Another has one powered by a Z06 engine. However, each also has Top Flight cars as well. Ahhh, the envy is overpowering me now.

Wish I could make the NCRS meet in Kissimmee this January, even though I will be wearing my G-Shock, instead of a Rolex!

Robin, the NCRS is a great organization. The people are very knowable and friendly and always willing to help you with your Corvette.

I have belonged to NCRS for many many years nationally and have just last year decided to become active in my local chapter and have joined with them here in Colorado.

Like some messages have said some cars look stock from the outside, but are not stock under the hood on inside the car!

What I like about our group is these people are real "gearheads" like me and like to discuss the mechanical parts of the car and not just socialites who like to party all the time.

So I guess what I am saying is this bunch of folks are "true" Corvette lovers with the car being the central feature.

.

GREEKMAN, thank you for the very good explaination of ncrs . i have met many of the party crowd, and definately want to meet the gearheads.

Robin,

Go ahead and join. You'll have a great time at the events and make a lot of friends. They won't even throw you out for having your '59 blown apart in boxes for 32 years, :L so I'm sure your hood won't offend.

BTW I like my $37. stainless Timex. Even has a lighted dial.:cool
