most people put it close to the battery so the power leads do not have to be so long as they connect directly to the battery

I have a MSD digital-7 and I put it in the right front fender well, plenty of room.

I ran a 10 gauge wire from battery to the CD box works great and my box is not exposed to all that heat.

Solid state electronics do not like high heat.

Been working great for 10 years I had a 6AL until I installed a D-1R Procharger and Nitrous Oxide it would miss really bad that is why I went with the digital-7 all is good again. :thumb

I use a lot of MSD products on my cars, in fact, I use only MSD when I want aftermarket ignition products, but...I only use the ones I need. The MSD 6 series ignitions are great products but...

Unless the engine in your 93 is heavily modified...such as much higher rpm limit with significantly more compression, supercharger, nitrous oxide, etc, you don't need an MSD 6AL. Maybe not using it will save you the trouble of finding a spot for it. Also, MSDs, as good as they are, put out a lot of RFI so be prepared.

What you need for a stock or near stock engine in a C4 with a Gen 2 V8 is Denso IT20 spark plugs, MSD SuperConductor plug wires, an MSD coil and a properly functioning ABITs distributor ("optispark"). Those modest changes will give you a little extra ign. power without the cost, packaging or potential RFI problems of going to a CD ign. amp. such as the 6 AL.

Now, if your engine is substantially modified, you still don't need the 6 AL because your ECM already has a rev limiter. The MSD 6 will suffice and it packages into a smaller space.

I build for future, thats cheaper i learned. Better to do an overkill than replace after a year ore two:D Thank you anyway for your good advices on this forum.

Do you have a picture? I already have a battery charger there as when the car is not in use a always keep it hooked to the mains to make sure the battery is fresh.

I'd agree with "Black Bart"...put it inside the right fender.

One thing to remember with MSDs is they draw a lot of current. For power and ground, I'd run 10ga wire up and over the back of the engine and over to the battery. Also, you may want to add MSD's big filter capacitor to help with RFI.

Lastly, I'd set the MSD rev limiter higher than the stock limiter which retains the ECM's rev limiting ability.

The MSD may work better if you also add one of MSD's coils.
