From what I've read, it isn't worth the money to use any rotors other than stock.....so just ignore the question below that was at the end of my original post.

[SNIP]

.......What kind of rotors to get that will look good, perform well, and not cost me a fortune since I will have to replace the tires in a few months.

Not entirely true. There are some excellent AM rotors out there that are much better than stock.

Now, it depends on how you use your car and what your goals are to properly select a rotor. BAER Eradispeeds look top-notch and they will reduce your braking lengths too. The only problem with them, and any other cross-drilled rotor for that matter, is that under heavy use they are prone to cracking between the holes. If you autocross and/or road race your Vette a lot, I would not recommend them (or any cross-drilled rotor).

Now, a good heavy duty slotted rotor is the way to go for increased performance and durability. The only downside with them is that your pads will tend to wear more rapidly. However, they will stop you quicker and they will hold up to autocrossing and/or road racing.

The stock C5 rotors are really pretty thin, compared to other rotors - even other Vettes. If you are lucky, you can have them lightly turned ONLY ONCE. Even then, they are very likely to warp. Reputable AM rotors are much thicker, and thus much more durable in the long run.

FWIW, when we have to replace our rotors, we will be getting a good set of slotted rotors.

Thanks for the advice. It's just another one of the corvette items on the learning curve list. The research continues, but I have plenty of time.

Happy Holidays to ya......:SANTA

I think someone asked this question to the C4C5specialist and his reply was to upgrade to the Z06 braking system. Provides plenty of stopping power and it's GM so warranty problems should be taken care of quick.
