My first Corvette

I finally got a picture with a small enough file size. If the quality is not so great it's because I took it with my phone camera.

Wow, that looks good! What kind of wheels are those?

:beerHey ! Great Lookin'!

Those are 16" American Racing Wheels. Chrome steel outer rims and gold anodized alloy inner.

:w Nice looking Vette......The phone camera works great.......Remember to keep the SHINY side of the Vette UP and the not as SHINY side DOWN....Enjoy your new ride...

well done mate -- i know what u mean about the getting up in the morning and getting behind the wheel -- nice looking vette -- enjoy

Welcome to CAC. I would suggest that you map out what you would like to eventually do tot he car, then do your reseasrc to see how to obtain your objectives. This is usually the best place to start as many here have been there... done that... and will save you a lot of time and money.

Go out and agitate some asphalt!:beer

Hello and welcome:beer from a fellow newbie. I just bought my first Vette
a Black 87. I love it and this forum as well!!!:w

Hey guys and gals. I just purchased an '88 coupe (automatic) and I love it. It needs some work to get it up to where I want it, but it's mechanically sound and runs and drives great. I can't wait to get up in the morning and get behind the wheel. I been reading the posts here for a few weeks (before and after my purchase) and I know I'll have some technical questions down the road. I want to thank you already for the help I know I'll receive from you experinced vette people. Hello and thanks again.

Welcome to CAC

I had done no survey before buying my Corvette. After getting the car I found there is lots & lots of information on the net (best one being CAC of course) as well as spares are available even in Turkey. In addition to all of that IT IS A GREAT CAR.

If I were in your shoes I would fix it to the factory specs... The car or any other piece of equipment is an engineered integral system and they do not enjoy mods much. The stock car is already a very good one and hence they should not be modified. One mod here requires another mod somewhere else and there is never an end to it. It is already a quite complicated system with all sorts of electronics & mechanical systems and I often find contradicting information even for the very basic stuff. I can give you examples from the literature as well as from the net for such cases.

These are all my personal beliefs of course.

ENJOY THE CAR BUDDY

It's your call what you want to do with it. I modified mine, I now run 10.46@132mph. :-)

same problem

Hey, Zumzum, I can't post mine, either, it sux. I've had 'vettes for a while, now, and I have a really good crew chief for my drag car so if you have any questions you're welcome to e-mail me.

I'll be happy to help anyway I can. The rest of you superb 'vette owners, too :-)

Dan

Thanks for your welcomes and all advice and opinions are appreciated. I've already sifted thru tons of info here at CAC. This year I'm just enjoying the car (spent enough of my savings on the purchase). When I park her for the winter I'll plan the type and the sequence of the modifications. I do know that the first 2 things are exhaust (headers and complete system) and a new coat of paint.
