NAV System Question

I've read my manual but I haven't tried to use it yet. I have one question (dumb or not) here goes. Is this thing voice recognizable by itself or does Onstar have to get its nose in there?

There are 2 separate voice recognition systems in c6, one for onstar and one for the navigation system.
They are NOT the same system.

I just bought an 06 with Nav. Could not get it to operate at the dealer, they are ordering new disc. Are there any tricks to getting this thing to work?

Make sure the disc is in the correct slot

I agree ,it's made overly complicated compared to a Garmin .

The dealer sent the version 9 update which only contains one disc. I will try in the next couple of weeks( car is in storage)
