In an effort to improve our customers' level of satisfaction with their factory installed DVD Navigation Systems, General Motors is pleased to announce an industry first, a new Navigation Disc Update Program. The new GM Navigation Disc Center will become the source for all update and service discs and the GM Center of Expertise for navigation systems. Effective March 15th 2006, SPO will be exiting the navigation disc business. Details follow:

o All 2006 model year and later customers who purchase or lease a GM vehicle (except Saab) with a factory installed navigation system are eligible to receive two free annual updates.
o This represents at least $400 of value to the customer.
o Updates will be provided on 1st and 2nd anniversary of the delivery date.
o The customer will be contacted via post-card to verify their mailing address. If the customer's address changed and they did not receive a post-card, they can contact the Navigation Disc Center at the toll-free number below to obtain their update(s).

o All certified used and certified pre-owned customers, including Cadillac and Hummer, who purchase a GM vehicle (except Saab) with a factory installed DVD navigation system will receive one free update after they take delivery.
o This represents at least $200 of value to the customer.
o Owners will automatically receive a free update within 60 days of their vehicle purchase.

o Navigation discs (CD-ROM or DVD) will no longer be available through SPO.
o Dealers will be able to order navigation discs through the GM Navigation Disc Center, either at the website, http://www.GMNAVDISC.com, or through the toll-free number, 1-877-NAV-DISC (1-877-628-3472).
o A charge card must be utilized for payment. BARS billing will be added at a later date.
o For navigation system and disc questions, contact the Center from Monday thru Friday, from 8am thru 8pm Eastern time at the toll-free number noted above.
o Customers can contact the Center directly at the toll-free number for questions about their navigation system, navigation discs, or the Navigation Disc Update program.
o The Center's toll-free number and website will be added into the Navigation System Owner's Manual Supplement and onto the disc graphics beginning with the '07 model year.

Yeah, I'd be curious to know the answer on this one too.

:eyerole Yea I don't think the 06's cost anymore than the 05's, why should they get a free update and not us???

We're gonna get shafted....I can just feel it!!

I got a sneaky feeling us 2005 owners are gonna take it in the shorts on
this one.....somehow I feel GM will manage to sliver and snake there way
around this issue and makeup some BS excuse why 2005 owners are gonna get nothing free!!!!
So much for being good to your customers after dropping about $1600 on a Nav system!!

"In an effort to improve our customers' level of satisfaction " Are they saying that the 2005 owners were not customer's worth having? and keeping?

Deeper and Deeper it goes!!! Thanks GM/CHEVY

I told you 2005 owners, I just talked to GM customer service and yep you guessed, pull your pants down and take it like a real trooper, us 2005 owners are NOT I repeat NOT going to get free upgrades.......and that's that, I asked why and was told, that's just what GM decided and it did not include 2005, just 2006 and later..........so remember that the next time you purchase a GM product......
It's your call!

Nope......Same EXACT system as I said this is EXACTLY what the Lady at customer service told me, "GM is not upgrading systems on the 2005 Corvette, only the 2006 and later models", so again I asked why and told her that I thought that was extremely Chicken S*it! of GM to do that, she apologized and said that was thier call, and she could do nothing about it, so there ya go, GM is always there to take care of it's customers.......
So bend over and enjoy it 2005 Vette owners!!!
So now you ask why GM is losing money.........THERE YA GO!!!
I still love my car, it doesn't mean I have to Love or agree with the policy of the company that's builds it!!!, besides there is nothing we can do about it anyway!!

2005 Corvette - U3U - DVD Navigation.....$1600

2006 Corvette - U3U - DVD Navigation.....$1600

The reason we 05' owner's aren't getting the updates MUST be due to the difference in price we paid for U3U......makes loads of sense to me...?

This is just flat WRONG. Does anyone have a good email address that we all can write to and complain?? Between the forums I figure we can swamp them with emails and maybe get this changed.

WHAT???

I suggest that ALL 2005 owners call and call often. I am going on a campaign next week. I still want an email address to unload on if anyone knows of one.

Email address

Here is the email address, we need to flood them with emails over and over and over.............

I sent my email today and will continue sending emails every day until I get some satisfaction. I really hope all of you 2005 owners do the same. We have to hammer them with emails until we get what we deserve.
