Need help finding part.

Does anyone know where I can get a idle kick up sol. for my 80? This sol. is energized when the air conditioner is turned on and mounts right at the carb and linkage. I've checked thru several parts suppliers and none have it or its been discontinued. I'm trying to get the system working before summer.

Hve you checked with an a/c shop? The specialty shops can have a good handle on where to get this kind of stuff because it is their livelihood.

Holley and Edelbrock both have thier versions of this solenoid. From Summit the Holley part #HLY-46-74 is priced at $63.69. It should work the same with the Q-Jet, but I'm not 100% on that.

The original solenoid was discontinued by GM last year. I have a list of about 10 dealers who have it. Send me a PM with a fax number and I will fax the list to you from work tomorrow.

Don't forget junkyards, too. This solenoid was probably used on many GM products that had the QJet carb and A/C.
