HI, IM LOOKING FOR A NEW TRANSPARENT ROOF FOR MY 89 COUPE WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND ONE CHEAP. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH BROKEN TARGA TOP. THE PREVIOUS OWNER NEVER BOLTED DOWN AND TOOK OFF. YEEHAA:bash GUESS YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPEND NEXT

NEEDLESS TO SAY ITS IN 3 PEICES:puke

Is the frame damaged? If it is fine and just the Acrylic is cracked, then you could send it to Melrose to get a new lense put on. That would probably be the cheapest compared to sending it in for exchange.

If the frame is bad, then your only option is to buy a rebuilt top from a place like Melrose, or try and find someone selling a top like on the forum or on ebay.

What ever you do, DO NOT buy a top from ASTRO TOP.[/QUOTE

YA,THE FRAME IS BUSTED IN HALF. THANKS FOR THE TIP ABOUT ASTRO TOP WAS JUST ON THERE SITE WAS CONSIDERING BUYING ONE :bash

I don't think you'll find one cheap then if the frame is bad. You will have to buy one out right. Which means around $800 or more depending on where you buy it from. The cheapest would be to buy direct from Melrose or another vender. Your best bet is to find a good used top. But even then, it is a gamble. And yes, stay away from Astro Top! Their product is utter crap, and Mr. Thompson is a dick with a vagina.

FUNNY:boogie ILL CHECK MELROSE. U HAVE ANY MODS ON YOURS?

NO ASTRO TOP! :w

Sometimes I feel like I'm stalking Josh:chuckle...but its gotta be said over and over.....we both know from experience that ASTRO TOPS quality is marginal at best!:ohnoes

If I could chime in, I bought from the vendor in question a couple of years ago and the item was as described and I was happy with it, but their customer service is very poor. I got the impression that they were doing me a favor by selling me the piece to begin with. It doesn't take much to send a follow-up email or a "thanks for your business" or the slightest acknowledgment that you even exist. Here's your product, go blank yourself. Well, you live and learn.
