Hey SuperDave02 - welcome to the Forum. :w hope you get your cd changer fixed. Check to see if there are any pancakes stuck in the drive or jelly sandwiches.

Welcome, Dave! You picked a really nice year to get.

About the CD changer, do you have the 12-disc unit? If so, double check to make sure you are loading the CDs in upside down.

Elaine

Welcome aboard Dave, your last name isn't Osborne is it? :D Like Diva said, check to make sure that you are loading the CD correctly. If they are and it still doesn't work, I pulled a working unit out of my 01 that I'd sell.

Mine is a 10 disk Audiovox, I have tried loading both directions. today going to try a reset a friend told me about. Unplug over night(done last night), replug it in and let it sit for 15min. If that dont work, start the car, turn the radio off, unplug and replug changer, then turn on radio. if it still dont work after that means it dont work. Toms01: What unit you got?

No, my name isnt Osbourne. I got the nick name while working in a grocery store quite a few years ago, when I jumped over the meat counter, slipped and broke my wrist.

Mine is a factory 12 disk unit.

Multi-CD changrer for C-5

Does anyone know for sure if all C-5's have the factory wiring/plug-in for these multi-disc players and if so where would it be located :confused I know the changer is located in the trunk or hatch area on the coupe under one of the lift out panels, center one I believe.

Welcome to the CAC. I have two 02's and they are great cars. Have the 12 disc changer in my rear well of the coupe and so far it has worked fine. Wonder why Tom is selling his? Maybe because he uses an IPOD now instead of a CD. I would think that the OEM changer would be an asset when he sells his C5 in the distant future.

Bill, I don't know if the wiring was there from the factory. All the Bose head units came with the plug in the back of the unit, but whether or not the wiring is there (you are correct the middle storage bin), I don't know. Maybe pull the carpet back and have a look see.

Barrett, you are correct I have switched to an Ipod connector, in place of the CD changer. Will it make that much difference when/if I go to sell it? I doubt anyone is really interested, most would probably prefer the newer technology. And it's not like my car is all stock anyway. ;shrug

Bill I should say that the connector is a rather large white plug. Here's a picture of the installation. The factory plug is the one that goes into that little box.

And the Ipod in the console with music equaling probably 60 albums (and plenty of room to add more).

Not to try to stop a potential sale, but I for one prefer the CD changer if it came with the car. As you know, the window sticker is available for your Corvette thru the museum. If someone is looking for your car when you sell it and really wants as close to OEM as possible, then the CD changer might be something they want. This said, however, the fact that your Corvette is not all OEM (Corsa exhaust and new seats for example), I would assume that the radio unit is OEM. I was wondering (I can't remember even after looking inside your Corvette) if it has the CD unit or the cassette unit in the dash? The cassette option was available only if the 12 CD changer was ordered with it; I assume that your Corvette has the CD unit.

Yes, mine is the CD head unit. But I really doubt anyone is going to buy/not buy my car on the basis of the CD changer. With the changes I've already made, they'd have bigger fish to fry, if they wanted something that was stock.

Wouldn't make me no never mind, sure would not be a deal breaker for me anyway if it had the other things I wanted and the one I was looking for. Other things that was changed from OEM might. I wouldn't mind knowing if they were all wired for the multi-disc changer though. I heard the wiring harnesses were all the same. Anyone that knows can chime in on this :confused
