The problem LIES in the salespeople/dealer not being up front about their allocation, hell I never heard that word when buying a car till now. Or saying they have adequate allocation, when in fact they often don't! The sale gets "closed" based on the "no problem" 8 weeks or so mentallity. Then 2 months goes by, and it's a catch 22 for the consumer, what are you going to do?? - start over again with another dealer?? I am not saying all are this way, so please don't jump on me, I am just upset that I am trying to pay 60K for a car, from a company (GM) that has alot of financial issues, and they can't build, therefore SELL me a car. The allocation program is so damm silly! You got cars sitting on the lot, cars continue to be built to SIT on dealers lots, and customers doing everything they can to buy a very special c6 car. GM gets their stuff together, only to stumble on the common business fundementals. Hell, you want a bigger depoist than the 1K all dealers ask for (I always joke when the Mrs. brings up the money issue, I say RELAX HONEY-IT'S 1/60TH PAID FOR:L ) fine, I'll give you 10K, build my damm car that I am TRYING to BUY from you! OK, I am gonna have a beer and chill. Going to take the 79 out tonight and remember the good ol days.
