Just wanted to share impressions of the overhaul with y'all because I got alot of help here on the component choices. The '96 is 13" in front and 12" in the rear(the factory manual is wrong on that).
The rotors are slotted and drilled Raybestos Brute Stop (Nascar approved of course), EBC Greenstuff pads. The lines were changed to Goodridge Steel braids. ATE fluid to finish. The whole thing was about $600 for parts.
Rock Auto sent a warped front rotor right out of the box. Horrible pulsation. Replacement was perfect. The pads dust a bit more than expected. The lines went on very nicely. The coolest thing was the Power Bleeder- pump up garden sprayer for the fluid flush. That thing is awesome!
The combination is far better than before, and that wasn't bad. The bite is strong and very smooth with no groans like before. It's a pretty big job with a bunch of stuff to do but not impossibly complicated. A few runs back to the factory manual for moral support... I had fun and the results are great. Saved $450 too!
