Just got another addition!! A all original numbers matching 70k mile corvette, anyway I noticed that it had a rear-sway bar unlike my other 1977 and that it also was stiffer, is this the FE7 package? I dont have the build sheet and can't get ahold of the original owner. Here it is:

One other question, this thing went through a small flood and has been totally cleaned and runs and drives fine, it does have a salvage title, how much do you think it is worth?

Well cleaning is done was the fluids and wheel bearings packed? how much water was it in inches or feet?

Was this the one that the water coverved the exhaust tips and was coming over the door sills?

That model must have had the gymkana suspension package. From what I know, those models were the only ones with rear sway bars.

$10,745.23, give or take 10K.

Pretty hard to be more accurate than that with the sparse details you've given.

-salvage title
-flood
-missing tank sticker

is a big minus in my book.

It's also possible that the rear sway bar was added later, it's a pretty popular mod.

Any car is really only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. That is why sometimes we have cars that we put more into them then we know we will ever get back out of them. We love them so much that we'll put so much into it, and know we won't get it back if ever for sale. So the real question is, why would anyone want to sell them? I have not known too many late C3's sell for a high price yet. Unless they are detailed and have every piece of paper that the car has ever had to produce. Just enjoy the ride and don't forget the wave.

BTW: You're new 77 looks good. But I can't remember, was 77 the first year those side mirrors were offered? Or are those off a later model?

Yeah I know about not getting back what you want, my other vette (FLAMED ONE) has 10k in it and I am selling for 5500. This new to me all black 1977 has a salvage title, I can call the original owner and get more details, it was in a garage that was flooded about 1 foot, he then redid the wheel bearings, brakes and washed the undercarriage, changed all the fluids multiple times... The seats are not perfect and the carpet looks old, door panels have a few cracks, other than that it seems like a near perfect original.. Is that better for details? It probally does have the tank sticker, I havent tore into anything yet other than looking, has all original exhaust and smog system and factory A/C, rear defroster and a verified 70k miles and the optional sport mirrors.

That is one cool vette. You were lucky to have found it. Sounds like the owner did everything that needed to be done and then some! With all the parts that are original, IMHO I would say you have stumbled upon a gem. I know some folks are afraid of salvage titles but I have seen cars that have them run and run and run. If you can find the tank sticker you would certainly have backup. And we all know how important backup is!

Thanks man!!! :) I guess the insurance company paid him off, and he figured what the heck? here is a pic of both my corvettes, the flamed one is for sale $5500 and the other one is the 70k new one :)

Hey guys... nice addition to the family boyce.

What is this about a sticker on the gas tank? Does it prove something or list spec's on the car. If so, where can I find it exactly?

If it's still there, you'll find it about six inches toward the driver's side from the fuel filler neck; pull the rubber seal back out of the way and take a look in there with a flashlight - if it's still there, you'll see it.

It's the build sheet on the car. Unfortunately it is on the top of the gas tank. They were put there and as they went down the assembly line they were covered over with the body panel. The rubber seal he is referring to is the one around the fuel filler neck.

Hi, I just dropped my tank on my 1980 and found the build sheet. 95% of the information is still readable. It was located on the top of the tank, driver side, forward and pinched between the thick rubber anti squeak pad and the body. The only true way to salvage it is to drop the tank. The paper may fall apart but the glue that holds it to the tank is still good. While up there take some time to clean up the frame, put rust reformer on it and paint it. Also paint the tank/straps, replace the strainer in the tank and if the gas gauge does not work, either clean the pot/resister or get a new one. Just my 2 cents

cool 80
