New Callaway C16 Makes World Debut

Hey- the Callacam is up now- wave to the camera! The Callaway C16 is perfect. As usual its poetry in motion. I love it.

I have seen your "exotic" designs my friend...they look like a bad Star Wars movie..Not to mention, Callaway has actually produced cars..not digital images...Get back on the porch bro.

yeah, and the other guy that called it ugly has a '75 brown cpe.....nice!

U're seeing something I don't I get the "please wait" when I click on it..

We will add an aux. cam lens to add a different view - stay tuned... :cool

the sides at the rear look identical to a late 90's 300 zx,that thing is ugly if you ask me,best callaway was the c4 based one.

That car is absolutley beautiful! That's how a C6 should have looked! And I drive a C4 - which I'm sad to say is butt ugly compared to the C16.

If only I had a whole lot o' money.

Well, I didn't have a large picture to go by. Now I do.

You are right, lots of custom stitching.
Now for the similiar things...
1. Steering wheel buttons are identical on right side (shape of wheel nearly identical). Sky has cruise control and driver's info buttons on left side of steering wheel.
2. A/C vents appear to be same location and approximate size.
3. Fog light and interior dimmer buttons in same location.
4. Short throw shifter and parking brake and console height look extremely similiar.

There are other similarities too. Four wheels, two seats facing forward, etc.

That said, I am not nuts about this car. Then again on the body side of things I have never been crazy for Callaway. But the performance is spot on in my book.

Callaway C16 Reaction

I agree that the car is a great blend of style and performance. However, I like the looks of my 2007 Z06 better. I think this looks too European (Italian influenced) or too rounded for me.

Does anyone know a craftsman that does interiors for C6 corvettes in the North Carolina area? I am considering upgrading the interior some.

The reason that I brought it up, is cuz I heard that the 'Blue Demon' was based upon the same chassis as the Sky/Solstace. As you may or may not realize, both of these cars are GM built. I'm sure that GM has a few tricks up their sleeve(es) when they design new cars and that they will use the various parts for several of their vehicles. (I must note that my steering wheel switches are exactly like the ones in the 115,000 car.)
I think it is also no accident, that a new corvette engine can be fitted inside the Sky/Solstace. The chassis/body is 1,000 pounds lighter than the corvette, so imagine the power to weight ratio with the same engine!

I'm not putting down corvettes or the C16, but merely pointing out the similarities between the 2 cars. I would not be surprised at all, if we researched and discovered that the C16 used the same chassis as the Sky.

I have a convertible C3 and a Sky. So, I am not just biased here, but can speak from ownership.

It looks great to me! I'd love to have one if I could afford one!

I like it. A lot. The horsepower and torque numbers are incredible. But, to me, and in my opinion, it "borrows" from other designs-it doesn't look "original". I'm sorry if I offend.

It has similarities to a Maserati, the '64 Ferrari GTO, the Nissan 300ZX, the 2002 Camaro...all decent cars on their own, but, for 120 large I'm thinking it should be something different. I think the Callaway product is awesome, this one is just not twisting my head like a Ferrari F40, or Lamborghini Diablo. That kind of money, I want a jaw dropper. :eek

;LOL

IMHO I like the 4 tail light look and the Z06 look better.

:w

I think a four tail light would be better and do away with the Gold paint on the hood. Black interior and different wheels. But man it is All About the HP and the Performance. IMO
