Hi all, new member wanting to say hello. I just sold my 65 vet/conv that I've owned for the last 10 years. I'm a little sad and I know I'll miss it until my 2006 is produced soon. I've ordered a coupe, 3LT, Auto, Gps DSOM. I ordered it through Les Standford in Detroit and will have it delivered to a dealer near home in northern Ca. I'm currently on vacation in Maui, waiting for the production date. Geovette

Welcome to the site! I am sure you will love the C6. Was it hard parting with the 65? Don't forget to wave :w.

vettefan87

Vettefan87 it was hard to give up the 65 but it went to a person who knows Corvettes and will treat it right. It was a nice ride, daily driver with matching numbers. When the wife and I test drove a 2006 that was all it took. Geo

George,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center and congratulations on the new C6! I love the Daytona Sunset!!!

Thanks for the welcome and I know we'll enjoy the c6. The only problem is the waiting. I've read the manual a couple of times on the internet and think I'm ready for it. Geo

Yeap, waiting is the hard part.
Sounds like you ordered a copy of my car (3LT, Auto, DSOM, GPS/Nav). It's a kick.

Tuna,
How did you do the 500 mile breakin with going hot on the gas or did ya? George

Just picked up my new vert. from Rick Daniels at Les Stanford in Michigan. I drove it back to Long Island NY. the same day(773 Miles). They were great to deal with and next year when my wife gets a new Tahoe I'l call them for a price before I try anywhere else.GOOD LUCK WITH YOU"RE NEW COUPE.

Dogman,
I don't think I would try and drive it home from Detroit in the winter, you're a braver person then I. I feel guilty being on vacation in Maui and getting a call from agranddaughter last night telling me about the snow storm approaching home. HOw long after your car was produced did it take before it was at the dealership? Geovette

The red was our second pick. My son is restoring a 66 coupe and he has selected red. Geovette

I picked up mine at the Museum and spend a day visiting friends in Bowling Green, so it got a 'reasonable' breakin before hitting the road for home. Even then, we took back roads and did a little site seeing for another couple of hundred miles. It was hard not to mash the gas and air it out though. :D

Maybe I'll let the wife drive it for the first few weeks. Geovette

George, welcome aboard and congrats on your soon-to-be C6. DSOM is a wonderful color. You may even get one of the last ones- it is being discontinued.

Don't feel guilty for vacationing in Hawaii! You're supposed to enjoy it! :L
