I bought this car knowing ill be putting a new frame under it. Ive already started the tear down. Heres what has me confused. I was under the impression that my floor pand would be rotted due to the condition of the frame but on further inspection im finding this car has fiberglass floor pans. I thought they stopped doing that in 75. The car has never been wrecked or had any bidy work done all the numbers match. ????

I guess I never knew for sure but thought all Corvettes had plywood sandwitched between fiberglass floor panels but I'm definently not an expert. Can't the frame be sandblasted and saved? Lot of work putting another frame under anything I would think. Was at one time looking seriously for a 1972 LT-1 and planned on a frame off restoration but decided not what I want to do this late in my life for someone else to enjoy the benifits of all the work, and I could not find a 72 that was all there and/or that I could afford. So again I scratched that off my bucket list of things I wanted to do :nono

Post some pictures if you get the chance, sounds like you have a lot of work :bowroflahead of you !!!

I wish it was as simple as a repair to the frame. The idiot that had it before me had it stored in plastic. The whole driver side frame is rotted. I have a good frame and most of the stuff to do the swap came with the car.
