2004 Base Coupe A4 Black on Black
Hi Everyone -
I joined the forum around a month ago and last week I picked up my first Corvette... a 2004 C5 Base Coupe, A4, Black on Black, with 66,700 miles.

I actually registered here around a month ago. I've been mainly spending a lot of time sifting through the volumes of knowledge and owners' experiences with the C5 gen. It has been a great source of info thus far, for both points of purchase price negotiation and planning out my progression of mods. As a result, I brought her home at a killer deal. Now while she's in the shop getting some warranty-covered repairs I'm beginning to gain an understanding of and formulate how to get her to the moderate level of performance and aesthetic goals I have in mind
I've been jonesin' for a 'Vette since back in my high school days. :happyanim:
I'm looking forward to being on this the forum and discovering if the reality of ownership matches my long-time fantasy. LOL :)

Welcome to Corvette Action Center and Congratulations

Welcome aboard we're glad you've joined us:happyanim: Nice looking C-5, is it a stick or AT?

Thanks all.

@hoosierdaddy - It's an A4 tranny.

I've only actually been able to drive her for 3 days so far. As mentioned on my OP, she's undergoing some repairs under the 6-month extended warranty I purchased at dealer cost (i.e. 1/2 retail price!). These include 3 of the typical problems that reportedly occur with higher mileage C5s; i.e. - new radiator, new rear main seal and right idler arm. No tranny or differential leaks though so that's good. With these big ones out of the way I'm expecting some decent DD longevity out of the drive train.

Welcome to CAC!!!
enjoy!!!

Welcome to the CAC

I hope you are getting all you that you expect from the site.

Tom

Thanks all!

Yes Tom - I am. :)
Although I still don't have her back yet, I think have a reasonable understanding of what to expect regarding C5-specific idiosyncrasies...
My hope is this should at least make for a bit less of a potentially harried relationship with her. LOL :)

Nice choice for your first Corvette. Love the black on black. Enjoy it and remember to SPEED SAFELY!
