To answer your question, I drive one or the other every day. Front Range winters here in Colorado are generally fairly mild; we get our heavy snows in the early spring (late February through mid April). I haven't had a situation yet where I simply couldn't drive either, and I joke with my coworkers that if such a day happens, I'm just going to have to call in sick for work.
