After making all the adjustments following Lar's procedures; I started the car last Saturday and there was no eye stinging rich exhaust and idle RPM was quite good.

Took car out for a drive and made several stops...car started quickly each time....engine ran great...only about a 20 mile trip...but the new problem is...I can't seem to get the smile off my face....:D

Now what do I do???

I think you have two options. Either create a new problem for you to resolve or buy something. Nice Avatar but I can't see her....lol.

Drive some more. Here in PA it's nothing but winter!!! I can't drive, well.... I could . I just don't want to get the car dirty!! :W

Wash, and detail the vette INSIDE and OUT then you can see yourself smile in the reflection of a fine tuned '81 corvette, take the tops off and enjoy the ride!!!!!!

The weather here in Tucson, AZ has been sunny and upper 70's.....good driving weather.

As we all know, there is ALWAYS something that needs fixed on these cars....I guess I could put those new parking brake shoes in and actually have a parking brake!!! As far as I can tell, they are original as there are still rivets in the rear rotors. Parking brake moves....just no holding force there with the cable adjusted all the way. Time to get in there and see what is going on.
