My '66 is getting new shoes for Christmas. :D Many thanks to John Z who put me on the trail of the Firestone Supreme Si's. I was able to locate a vendor who got me 5 of them (205/75RX15) for the cash and carry price of $40.95 each with the stems! $204.75 for all 5 tires, incredible. Best wishes to all for a happy holiday season and a healthy and happy New Year! :grouphug:

I wish I would have talked to you all before I ordered my coker redlines this past summer. Those Firestones look pretty nice.

Boy are you lucky. Of course, Firestone no longer makes the Surpreme SI. Maybe I can also be lucky. Is that an Internet vendor or local to you. I could use 5 of them myself. Maybe 6 in case I buggerr one up. Can you point me in the right direction. You got the last 5 didn't you.

hay - thanks, Rollin

One of the nice things about having an older vette is the fact that we can get new tires at a very reasonable price (cheap!). I look at what these guys in C4, 5's and now C6's and cringe!

If a dealer told you that, he probably just doesn't want to order them in your size and would rather sell you something he has gathering dust in inventory; they're still being produced. I had two dealers tell me the same thing six months ago who were too lazy to order them for me.
:beer

John: I will toast a cold one to you. I'll head back to the dealer with a little bigger boot on.

Again - Thanks Rollin

My experience was that I called a Firestone dealer in my area directly and was told they thought they were no longer available but that they would check and get back with me. I never got a call. :ugh So I called a multi brand dealer that I used to deal with when I was in the construction business and asked him if he could get them. He said he didn't think they were available anymore but he'd check. I said, get me five if you can and gave him the article number off the spec sheet, 067-571. He called back and said they will be here in the morning. Score! Tire Sales and Service in Delaware, (302) 994-2900, ask for Jim Cohen. By the way, there are other options in Firestone's lineup that are very similar. Go to their site and look up the Firestone Brand and scroll down to the Supreme Si. The very next tire is the FR440. The specs are nearly identical. My guess, the old fuddy duddy name Supreme Si is on the way out and the macho FR440 is going to replace it. For a '66 coupe, I like the Supreme Si moniker. http://www.bridgestonetire.com/tireselector/index_bs.asp?pagesource=searchbysize By the way, is it too early to start whining "When will spring get here?" If not, let me be the first, come on spring! :lou

Terry, as soon as my carb gets back from rebuild and my motor is running again, I'll be whining the very same thing!
:D
