Hi guys my name is John and have been a vette owner for 20 years but I have nevered worked on fiberglass. I'm a machinst so the mechanical work is easy to me but most of what I need to learn is body work. I have a 63 vette that I bought when I was 16. Interior is all original and looks great. Welcome aboard John....Are you having any particular problems with your fiberglas at present? Or were you just stating your credentials? Is your '63 a split-window or a roadster? I would really like to have a split window....the C2 coupes are my all time favorite classic Vettes. Would like also a C2 427...(wishful thinking....) Anyway......gald you joined us......fellow Vette lover 'n' texas.....tim :blue:

I forgot to ask, you say you bought your '63 when you were 16. How long ago was that?

I wish it was a split window..... Thanks for the welcome. I need to remove the front clip and redo the headlight buckets. I want to reuse the clip. My father bought the car when I was about 12 and I bought it from hom when I turned 16. It was a show car at one time but I let it sit to long and now it needs some body work.

Welcome John. I love the C2 convertibles.

I'm no expert on fiberglass repair either. I just started small by repairing some minor damage on the wife's C4 using tips from a few books. The next project will involve more extensive work on my 69 roadster. The materials aren't too hard to work with but they sure take some time to fully cure.

I don't know exactly what you are repairing, but I would hope you could do it without pulling the whole front end. That's diving in pretty deep for a rookie. Good luck.

Here's a big "welcome" from Kansas. You are very lucky to have a classic as your first Corvette. My first was a 64, that was a few years back....like 35. Hang around here and the experts will be able to answer your questions. Like vetteboy suggested, GMJunkie would be a good one to get to know, and in the same state.
