1996 Collections Edition LT4
I will be getting a C4 in the next day or so. I have two choices and one choice has 2 options. Choice1 is a 1994 Blk/Blk LT1 6sp with 64k miles and the other is a 1996 CE LT4 w/blk leather and 94k miles. The CEhas 2 choices, the prior owner had GS rims put on it, the choice I would have to make is either leaving the GS rims on it or ptting my ZR1 rims on it off of my 99 Camaro SS. The CE looks awesome w/GS rims. Any thoughts?

On the 94 255 & 285 the 96 CE 275 & 315

They 275/40 zr17. It would be an easy swap, if I wanted to. But those blk Gs rims look sweet on the silve cE

I guess we can do this all night, I have nothing better to do right now ;O)

Don't know yet. Should I be scared of a LT4 with 94k miles. Normally cars that I seen with that kinda miles a pretty worn out inside and out, but this very clean. The only real problem I see is the glass top. Its kinda, scratched up from the elements I guess. i want the CE, but I kow more about LS1s than I do LT4s, so the milage kinda concerns me.

It's funny u should ask . . .

Here's a thread I started the other day MTBF - LT4 Engine.

Welcome Vargod!

Welcome to Corvette Action Center.

My husband and I recently went on a day trip to the mountains with 3 other CACC members and their vettes. Ours is a '78 and we traveled with a '77, '88 and a '96CE. The CE was one sweet ride!
Were it me spending the money between those two choices, I'd hands down take the CE! However, when purchasing any used vehicle, I'd be sure to find out about how the vehicle was maintained.
Vettes are notoriously 'driven hard', but they are built for it and if they're maintained, they can last forever (or nearly so)! I am personally a fan of high mileage, well-maintained vettes. I think it proves reliability.

It was decided tonight that the LT4 CE would be the one we get. From what the owener of the lot says, the car has been well maintained with routine maintenance. After looking at the car, I tend to believe him. The interior is spotless. THe seats look brand new. There is little road/chip marks on the model. One of things I look for when looking at a used car in the engine bay. This was relatively clean. YOu could tell that it was not just cleaned at the local car wash. I am taking it out in the morning to have it checked out. The owner wants me to do some internet contract work for him, so he knows that if there is anything wrong with it it will be the first to know.

Thanks for the welcome. I have heard some good things about this board.

Congrats on the LT4.

One day, I will join the ranks of you LT4 elites!:D

Edmund, you're always saying that aren't you. Or I could be reading the same post 3 or 4 times. That's a real possibility. I pick up my '96ce this afternoon. I can't wait. I'm trading my sweet and dependable daily driver, drkblu88 in on it. It's a bittersweet day. Here's a wave for ya.:w

I think you are gonna fall in love with your new LT4!

Already have. It is an awesome ride. Next time i'm down there visiting the family we should try to meet up.

I got the ZR-1/collector rims on mine if you want to compare, see what they look like. I think they look awesome. Better than the "saw blade" standard ones.

By GS rims i assume you mean the blackened 5-spoked rims? I am not a big fan, but of course look great on the Grand Sports.
