this is about the Zo6 not the UAW,

But it is now, I guess.:crazy

Absolutely stunning!!! Looks like a winner to me!!! To bad GM cant come out with more stuff like this!!! Maybe the Z06 can turn the stock around...or at least be a start

Excellent side by side comparisons. Thanks.

(The coke in the cupholder made me cringe a little.)

Given the results of the race, I don't know if I want one or not. I'll just keep my "Old" out dated Z-06 for now. I would have thought the new vettes would have dominated the GT1 class hands down.H.D.

Very cool pics. You can really see the differences when they are side by side!
I think I am going to start saving up for one!

Save The Wave!

Wow, what a beautiful car. Wonder what this beast will look like with a front license plate installed. If this IS the '06 front end style ( minus the intake ) then it means that no changes are in store for the front license plate holder for the coming year. If you think the ugly wart looks bad on a regular C6 just wait until we see the first Z06 with one growing just in front of that mean looking cold air intake in the hood. Way ta go Cheby. BTW Mrant212...as far as helping GM stock is concerned I don't think even the Z06 can do that. It's gonna take breaking the UAW and the only real way to do that is to continue the program of moving jobs offshore. And don't blame the corporations for that blame the unions and the extravagent wages they extort.

I saw in a recent business article that there is $1000 of health insurance costs in EVERY gm car sold. This is not to mention the wages which are at least three times the prevailing rate. Move ALL GM production offshore and you'll see the stock soar.

Be just fine with me.

BTW2...given the fact that the vette is one of GM's only shining lights right now I am expecting a strike at BG any day now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all, all the workers want is a decent living wage ( for a doctor ).

Not to start a fight, but If you had to choose just one, which you you choose? the ZR1 or the Z06?

The new C6 Z06 in black is stunning..

I really haven't liked the new C6 much but that Black Z06 is awesome. The extra flare on the body makes a world of difference in appearance. It's a completely different car....if I had the cash, that would be the car. A new standard was just introduced!!! WOW!!!

I have seen first hand what the closing of a GM plant does for a community, houses selling for less then they were bought, Businesses closing many of them small, vacant shopping centers. You talk about breaking the UAW why? the UAW prompts its members to "buy American" and Union made goods what is wrong with spending your money where you make it?
$1000 health ins per car ;LOL think about it a while before you blame the UAW a five minute visit to the Doctors runs $60, perscription drug costs are outrageous.

It is a common misconception that UAW members make outragous salaries which is not true, I would be willing to bet that if a poll was taken of our CAC mwmber incomes those of us that are UAW members would rank at about 30%

Wow - you railed against GM, the Corvette, the Z06, unions, and the American worker all in a thread for pictures. JMO but I sense that you may be a member of "management". Of course, I could be incorrect. :)

I don't belong to any unions and in fact live in a state which is historically non-union. I am basically neutral on the subject, but I do have some opinions.

I believe there is enough greed on both sides of the table to go around. The bottom line is always about money and jobs are being moved to countries where the minimum wage is sometimes no more than $1.10 per hour. The quality of life is barely above what we would consider poverty level, and in some cases, human rights are a joke. It should also be noted that women and minorities are often treated as second class citizens.

The irony of the situation is this: at a time when Corporate America is preaching acceptance of diversity and equality and enforcing it with threats of termination for non-compliance, they're steadily moving jobs offshore to cultures who do not believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

And what will happen when those citizens begin to realize that they are skilled workers and deserving of a bigger piece of the pie? I suppose it won't be a problem if corporations build their plants in countries where protesters are shot.

The ultimate irony will be that the more jobs are moved offshore, the less people will be able to afford their products here. Wonder how many Corvettes can be sold in Taiwan?

Just my opinion.

what the guy above me said:bang

It's pictures like these that makes me shred any regret for not buying a C6. My 02 Z06 will keep me happy until the 07 Z06.

My my touched a nerve did we? The truth can hurt and cause those upset by it to protest. As they say, the truth hurts. The unions have done it to themselve folks.

Henry Ford wisely decided to pay his factory workers enough so that they could afford his first mass produced cars. He understood that if nobody can afford the item he could not make money selling it.

Unfortunately most of the greed after he made that decision has been on the side of the unions. And....it is precisely the unions that have caused the mass exodus of jobs overseas.

It is almost certain that they will try to extort even more exorbitant wages and benefits even in the face of continued moves offshore and foreign competition. It they were trying to destroy US industry they have nearly succeeded.

As for UAW members not making that much.....lol for thirty minutes. Barely high school educated, doing a job that has been simplified and standardized to the point that a chimp could do it, and making over a hundred grand a year? And they think they are worth it? And they want more?

They deserve to have their jobs moved offshore. Every last one of them. The high productivity and prosperity for all workers that our domestic electronics industry has created is precisely due to the fact that the industry is NOT unionized and thus has not been bled dry to give ignorant morons the pay that many doctors earn.

Maybe you should move offshore, what about all the GM trucks and cars made in Mexico and Canada, NO HEATH CARE there. Are GM cars getting cheaper....nooooooooooo. Why ??? Because of all the Greed at the top of GM. oh yea, you forgot to put your third car down....you know the Toyota with the America Flag in the back window. Use your brain man, this country is a mess because of people who think like YOU. Save the Wave.>George

I think the first shot in this debate was fired by you when you attacked unions specifically and the American worker in general in a thread dedicated to Z06 pictures. So the question comes to mind of whose nerve was touched first? ;)

I stated that there is greed on both sides of the issue and I stand by that statement. Your observation of the fact that truth hurts is frequently the case, but a distorted and slanted version of truth benefits only those doing the distorting. I also presented my opinion of the facts without resorting to name calling and derogatory comments.

Hey CHL

Nice pictures. Thanks for posting them.

And my apologies to you for seemingly hijacking your thread... please forgive me for stepping off the path for a moment! :L
