Newbie to the Forum - Security light question

Just got my second Corvette, 97 Black/Black with 24K miles. it is terrific. Being 7 years old it had a couple of minor things that needed fixing and thanks to this forum I have taken care of most of them.

Haven't seen this problem listed so I thought I would give it a try.

Intermittently the security light will come on and stay after the engine is started. Usually turning the ignition off and back on will clear the light. Any ideas?

Hi and that is a good question. I have exactly the same problem on my -97.

Had that problem on my 1998.

Dealership said the "chip" in my Key was loose. They replaced the lock cylinder and keys to fix it under warranty. Try using your other key and see if the problem stops.

Thanks for the response. I have one origional key and a new key made when I bought the car. I see the problem with either. Guess it's the lock cylinder.
