1999 pewter coupe
I just purchased a used 1999 C5 Coupe. I've been a fan of the Corvette for years. I had some other GM sports/muscle cars in my younger days but had to sell; raising kids/ college, yada, yada, yada.
This forum has already been a great help in my research of the car. I'm looking forward to contributing to the group.

Welcome to the group..

A lot of us went through the raising kids. ;) I had a 69 BB and my daughter asked why did I sell it; I said go look in the mirror. ;)

It's a tradition that about 1200 of us will show up at your house tomorrow morning for breakfast .;)

Welcome aboard, glad you've joined us :happyanim:I can relate to cars in the past too :eyerole I had a 63 Stingray and yes it was a split window couple but for too many reasons that can be listed sold it after I went in the Army, it had been in an accident and needed quite a bit of work, more than I was capable of doing at the time (tried my hand at body work and just had to come to the conclusion it wasn't for me and I was never going to be any good at it) and even now but would be nice to try but now the famed 1963 split-window coupe is way out of my price range and hard to find too :ugh Also not sure I would want to do all that work to leave it to a son in law or something like that, or wife's new boy friend :L after the celebration of my life or death was over even worse. Now with no ready money, not enough energy, some health issues I'll just enjoy my 2000 Coupe and be :happyanim:about it!

Good luck, also had a number of muscle cars over the years, got in my fair share of trouble with them too, 70 Chevelle SS got me in more trouble than anything I ever owned but would love to have it now that I got a little more sense ;LOLbut again no more money;shrug doesn't seem like anyway, really different priorities in life!! Good luck just enjoy your 1999 Coupe, what color is it; stick or automatic? Got any pictures, we love them especially now while mine is wintering in the outer shop building, in fact going to start it up and let in run a while. This will help me some for a while, should be back on the road in a couple of months.

Thanks to all for the welcome, much appreciated! Here are some pics I took from the dealership I purchased it from. As you can see it is completely stock, a nice clean slate to work with.

Nice clean looking C-5. stick or auto?

It's an automatic. The master plan includes my wife being able to drive it. I tried to teach her how to drive a standard when I had a Z-28. Unfortunately it didn't work out too well. I'll get this one where I want it and then possibly look for a Z-06. It does run very well even with the auto.
Any pics of your vette?

I tried multiple times to get to the map but it won't load, it shows an error.

Believe me there has been times I wished mine was an automatic too, traffic and etc. My wife can not drive a stick either but she is not Vette crazy like I am either so it works. Most of the time I love shifting, going through the gears, to use 6th you need to be up around 100MPH, LOL don't use 6th much around town anyway only when I hit the interstate or want to set the cruise really, maybe a control thing :L I'll try and post some pictures, I don't have a lot lately.

I like the black with the chrome wheels. Really a nice combination! Thanks
