I have a 73 corvette that I replaced all brake parts for the front and rear of the car.
Every thing worked good untill I put about 25 miles on the car.

I noticed a grinding sound on the rear area. I pulled the driver side tire and noticed that the new rotor is slightlt scoured ( about 1/4 ince area in the middle of the rotor.) I am not sure how to proceed from this point. Rotor and caliper are brand new. The scouring is only on the outside of the caliper.

Any recomendations.

Corvette brake pads are in contact with the rotors are all times. What you are seeing might not be anything more than new pads taking a set. It is also possible you might have a bad pad. Can you feel the scoring with your finger nail?

I did not enter the link which shows up for brake pads. I have no affiliation with the eBay seller and I am not making any type of endorsement.

What is scored - the rotor, or the caliper?
