C3-coupe/MercedesBenz-540K replica! Racing-SB-V8!
-latest skuttlebut is that the slated $50k C6/Corvette is not going to have the experimental DIBC(dual in block cams) as hoped for, -owing that Corvette engineers are going to supposedly less costly light-weight Titanium/valve-train components instead (1/3rd wt. steel); --thus the C6's 350cid alum.small-block ohv-V8(pushrod) will be cranking out a whopping 425-bhp with a smooth idle on 4-cyl., and silent gearless/starter-motor built around flywheel!!! These GM/Chevy-guys are thus apparently challanging Ferrari for efficiency (while satisfying Fed.EPA air-polution requirements), --that's sure light-years away from the original C1's "stove-bolt six" I had when I was a kid a few decades ago (although if a guy was to bolt-up a 4-speed 700R-4 to that ol'235-cid straight-six (150-hp), it would easily lop several seconds off of the C1's 10-sec./0-60 time based upon that lousey 2-speed Powerslide anchor of a trans.)...

Take a look at the latest Automobile magazine. They suggest that the V16 engine GM developed for the Cadillac 16 showcar carries a lot of the technology which will appear in the new Corvette V8. The Caddy had 1000 HP and the V8 is only half as big ...uh...so that means that ...uh the new Corvette will have...uh, well, a lot of HP.
