I have a 1986 corvette with the L98 tuned port engine (automatic) that I purchased with a rod knock. Replaced the engine in shop. We got everything wired up and went to start it and we are getting nothing more than a click behind dash and a strange click in engine bay that we cannot pinpoint where it’s coming from ( not the starter or solenoid). I bench tested the starter and it works but once in the car it will not. I have a ground strap from the frame to the block on driver side, a 3 section ground on driver side and the battery ground to block. All are on driver side. As far as starter I have a thick red wire from battery and fuse link red wire both going to large terminal on starter and a small red wire going to “S” terminal and the ground is just the rear bolt on starter going into bracket.
