Help! No Interior/Dash lights

I just bought a 1969 convertible and the interior lights do not work. No dash or gauge lights. The Hi-Beam light and Brake light indicator do work, but nothing else. All exterior lighting is perfect, I pulled each fuse and replaced 2 blown ones, but no luck. I have basic electrical knowledge, but this one has me stumped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.;help

Best thing to do is get a Corvette Shop Manual such as the one Helm publishes. You'll find circuit schmatics in it. Does your wiring harness looked like bubba has hacked into it?

Thanks! I have the manual on order. The harness is actually not that bad. There are a few places where it has been hacked, but nothing to severe. I do know all the wires for the dash/gauge lights are gray, but i wasn't sure if they all connected in a central location before they went to the fuse box.

All those gray wires are tied together before they get to the headlight switch. Make sure the dimmer is turned all the way clockwise. (Not picking on you, it's a lot more common than you think!) Circuit goes from fuse block to headlight switch to each light. Check the ground(s) on the back of the speedo and tach, back of the center gauge cluster, and on the left side of the dash just above the hood release handle.

Interior Lights

On my 68 I have to wiggle the my light switch to get mine on. I pulled the dash to check it over and found there is a coiled wire that makes the lights dim and brighten as you turn the switch. The coil of wire was corroded with surface rust. It might be the case on yours. Im planning on just replacing the switch.
