Damnit I aint having no luck!

I wanted to run a bigger shot in my N20. Well, your suppose to retard the timing 2 degrees for every 50hp shot. Well, my timing has been advanced due to the mods and tune that I have and I have been running a 75hp shot. So I have been pushing my luck so far.
Well I was told that MSD makes a part that would automatically retard the timing x number of degrees when you went to WOT. Start/Retard Switch, #8982. I thought this would be great since my kit only activates at WOT. I asked the guys at MSD and they said it would work with my setup and since I already had the MSD 6 and the 8.5mm wires I would not need anything else.
We get the part and start putting it on and it turns out that this part does not work on my kit. My Kit has 4.5 volts and this part requires 12 volts and does not work with a progressive module. So my kit and this part will not work together. So now I am screwed, because I have an appointment to have the car retuned Monday night. If I cant make that one, the next one is the 10th of May, not to mention I have to either find a fix or get another part by the 10th of May.

is there a way you can connect witha contactor ? I have no idea how it all works but with a 5volt contactor you could supply 12 volts . ;shrug

I want nitrous... I am finding I want a lot of things to put on the car, It is driving me insane, and to the poor house. That really sucks dude, I know how you feel, but it will be worth it when you get it all straightened out. I am not sure how that stuff works either but G Winter has a good idea. Let us know what you find out.

Just wondering if you could get a relay to activate the timing retard part use the 4.5 as a trigger for a relay powering the part with a12volt feed . I hope you solve your problem good luck

Problems solved. We got a micro switch and hooked it up to the Throttle Body, then hooked the MSD switch to the micro switch. Now at WOT the micro switch activates the MSD which then retards the timing. :D Now I just have to keep from going BOOM!
